“The continent is already showing signs of progress. In South Africa, wind and solar power have become the lowest-cost options for new power generation projects. In the past few years, 1,800 megawatts of competitively-bid wind and solar projects have come online in South Africa. These projects have not only abated the country’s energy crisis, but, due to their low cost, have also saved consumers a lot of money.”
