Emilia is a PhD student at ERG and a Research Affiliate at both the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) and UC Berkeley’s India Energy and Climate Center (IECC). Her research focuses on the power system vis-a-vis not only the imperative to decarbonize but also simultaneously address increasing climate adversity. Specifically, she’s interested in bridging innovative technologies, policies and market mechanisms to accelerate decarbonization and enhance grid resiliency in the US and abroad.
Prior to moving to Berkeley, Emilia worked in the Gas Markets & Energy Retail team at the EU Agency for the Cooperation for Energy Regulators during the onset of the European energy crisis. She holds a Master’s degree in energy engineering from both KU Leuven and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Duke University.
