Aline Abayo, a graduate student in the Energy and Resource Group (ERG), has been selected as one of eleven participants in the prestigious Future Nobel Laureates Scholarship Program. This competitive program, a collaboration between EF Study Abroad, The Forum of Education Abroad, and the Nobel Prize Museum, recognizes outstanding students committed to addressing global challenges. Abayo and her peers will culminate in an in-person experience at the Nobel Week Dialogue in Stockholm, Sweden, from December 6 to December 12. There, they will explore global issues, attend lectures from Nobel Laureates, and discuss “The Future of Health” with global leaders.

Abayo’s ERG research focuses on climate finance, critical materials, the economics of renewable energy, and the intersection of climate and development. Prior to ERG, she worked as a junior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, contributing to research on Africa’s energy transition. She is from Kigali, Rwanda, and holds a BS in Integrated Science and Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
