Mengqi Yao

Mengqi believes that distributed energy resources can play a key role in improving system characteristics in future power systems. Her work focuses on developing strategies to control renewables. Currently, she is working on mitigating the impact of wildfire on the power grid. The work aims at building a data-driven risk model for predicting wildfires in the power grid. In addition, Mengqi works on distributed energy resources planning to improve system reliability and resiliency. Before coming to ERG, Mengqi completed the M.S. and Ph.D degrees at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
