Rebecca R. Hernandez

Dr. Rebecca R Hernandez received a Ph.D. in Earth Sys­tem Sci­ence from Stan­ford Uni­ver­sity after receving a master’s degree from the Cal­i­for­nia State University, Fullerton (Biological Science, MS) and a bachelor’s degree from the Uni­ver­sity of Cal­i­for­nia, Los Ange­les (Geography/Geographic Technologies, BA). She is a first-generation college student and proud graduate of the California community college system (Biology/Geography, AS/AA). Hernandez has been awarded the EPA STAR Fel­low­ship, DARE Doc­toral Fel­low­ship, the Ford Foun­da­tion Fel­low­ship as well as the William W. Orcutt Memo­r­ial Fel­low­ship. She has been pub­lished in jour­nals such as Bio­Science, Envi­ron­men­tal Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy, New Phy­tol­o­gist, Renew­able and Sus­tain­able Energy Reviews, Nature Climate Change, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
