Sol Alvarez-Taubin’s research interests revolve broadly around protecting and restoring social and ecological integrity in frontline communities and lands. At ERG, she is interested in exploring how concurrent technical, ecological, and policy interventions can address utility-driven wildfire risk for Tribal and remote communities, affirming community sovereignty, fostering ecological resilience, and advancing energy justice.
Alvarez’s family is from Argentina and she is hoping to catch a national team game during the 2026 world cup! She is trained as a clinical social worker and loves talking about how we build and restore relationships to ourselves, each other, our communities, and our environment. In her, spare time you can find Alvarez outside, swimming, doing ceramics, practicing yoga, or trying to learn guitar.
Prior to ERG, Alvarez attended Princeton University, and Columbia School of Social Work. She currently works as a consultant.
