Faraj Sungkar

Faraj is a Master’s student at the Energy and Resources Group (ERG). He is passionate about exploring how to address the complex challenges of balancing the energy trilemma (energy security, affordability, and sustainability) during the transition in Indonesia and other developing countries.

His research interests are focused on energy modeling, energy transition, policy analysis, carbon management, and sustainable industry practices.

Prior to joining ERG, Faraj earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Universitas Indonesia. He then spent five years working as a process engineer at a state-owned refinery in Indonesia, where he contributed to meeting the country’s energy needs and advancing product development.
