Chris Hunter

Chris is a M.A./M.P.P. student with the Energy & Resources Group and the Goldman School of Public Policy, focused on advancing effective and equitable climate and energy policy at the local level. He is interested in researching neighborhood-scale approaches to decarbonization, such as zonal electrification, microgrids, and resilience hubs, as ways to democratize access to clean energy. Through his concurrent degree in public policy, he also hopes to explore the intersections between energy and other pressing issues facing the Bay Area like housing, workforce, and transportation.

Prior to joining ERG, Chris spent 5 years with a local government agency leading outreach and community engagement for building decarbonization programs across Alameda County and the wider Bay Area. He holds a B.A. in International Development Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
