Kelsey is a PhD candidate, focusing on qualitative research spanning the fields of global climate and environmental politics, political ecology, critical development studies, human and Indigenous rights, and environmental conflict.
Alana Ballagh (she/her) is a first year Master’s student at the Energy and Resources Group. Alana is interested in exploring the role of more participatory decision-making in renewable energy planning and adaptation to infrastructure-related disasters. Her recent work examines energy sector planning and climate impacts in the Greater Mekong subregion.
Alana is eager to connect with adaptation practitioners and those working on low-carbon energy transitions in Southeast Asia and in the Southwestern US.
My research interests are broadly related to distributed energy resources — I hope to investigate pragmatic regulatory and policy methods to ensure that vulnerable populations are able to access these resources and their benefits.
Alix is an award-winning documentary maker, both in film and audio, and has been working in nonfiction storytelling for over a decade, as a creator and as a teacher, focusing on stories of human rights, women’s voices, environmental justice and trauma-awareness.
