Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL) is engaged in projects to develop the science, technology, policy needs and to foster engagements that explore the future of energy, specifically the transition to a low-carbon, environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable energy system. RAEL works equally on emerging scientific and technological issues in the largest and smallest of of energy systems, from the most industrialized to emerging economies. RAEL examines the widest set of impacts of our energy use, from social and cultural impacts within homes in rural Africa and Asia, to global climate change.
