The White House gives us a “behind the scenes” look at the installation of solar panels on the President’s palace. The process is detailed by scientists, including ERG Alum Dr. Cyrus Wadia (MS ’06, PhD ’08) of the White House Office of Science Technology and Policy.
In an email from earlier this month, Counselor to the President, John Podesta, explains:
On America’s path toward a clean energy future, solar power is an increasingly important building block. That’s why we installed solar panels on the roof of the White House — it’s a clear sign of our commitment to energy efficiency.
President Obama further claims:
Every four minutes, another American home or business goes solar, every panel pounded into place by a worker whose job can’t be outsourced.
